Parkland Father Fred Guttenberg Demands Kevin McCarthy Expel Marjorie Taylor Greene From House Committees: ‘Grow a Spine’ and ‘Get Rid’ of Her

Fred Guttenberg, father of 14-year old Parkland shooting victim Jaime Guttenberg, demanded House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy relieve Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her Congressional committee duties.

Guttenberg appeared Tuesday on CNN’s New Day to discuss the bipartisan outrage over Greene’s numerous conspiracy theories and repugnant statements from over the years. Much of the conversation gravitated around Greene’s claim that school shootings were staged, plus her harassment of Parkland survivors advocating against gun violence

McCarthy is expected to meet with Greene this week as Democrats demand her removal from the House Education & Labor Committee and the House Budget Committee. When asked what he wants to see come out of this meeting, Guttenberg replied, “I want Kevin Mccarthy to grow a spine today.”

He needs to do more than talk. If we learned one thing, what her comments yesterday, she’s really not going to change what she has to say about anything. Kevin McCarthy needs to tell her to leave…If Kevin McCarthy wants to actually have any chance of being a leader going forward, he needs to get rid of her today. This is not an option.

When asked for his response to Greene’s “false flag” claims, Guttenberg ignited at her warning that actions against he will be used against Democrats in the future.

“Her warning is so meaningless and so irrelevant and who cares?” Guttenberg said. “She should be shown her way back to Georgia, and that’s where she should stay. She should not be anywhere near the halls of Congress.”
