Piers Morgan Plans to Remain at CNN for ‘Big Name’ Interviews

 

Showbiz 411′s Roger Friedman reported Sunday that Piers Morgan plans to stick around CNN doing high-level interviews.

“I’ll make a deal to do twenty or twenty-five shows a year, all interviews with big names,” Morgan said. “That’s what I wanted to do in the first place, not reports on snow storms and that kind of thing.”

Friedman, who writes an on-line gossip column, says he ran into Morgan at a Beverly Hills dinner thrown by Harvey Weinstein, where he asked the soon-to-be-former primetime host what he thought would replace his show. “A news program of some kind,” Morgan responded. It has always been part of the plan for Morgan to remain with the network in some capacity.
