Piers Morgan Tonight‘s Evolution Continues As Show Prepares For First Live Audience

When planning began for the debut of CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight, set designers were given instructions to enable to studio to host a live studio audience. Next week, host Piers Morgan goes before a CNN audience for the first time. Followers of the PMT Twitter account got the first crack at tickets, with a tweet sent out this afternoon: “Want to come to the 1st ever live studio audience @PiersTonight? In NYC Wed. Feb. 9th 9pmET. For tickets email piersmorgantickets@gmail.com.”

The studio audience show will be a new incarnation for an evolving show, which kicked off with a recorded sit down interview with Oprah Winfrey shot in a hotel room, followed by a series of one-on-one hour-long in-studio interviews, and this week, live, multiple-guest coverage of Egypt.

The live audience format is not new for Morgan, who uses one in his UK interview show, Life Stories, which audience ticket websites describe this way:

You are invited to Piers Morgan’s SMASH HIT talk show which takes some of the biggest names in show business & public life to unpick their lives in an exclusive interview. VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY!
