Really! SNL’s “Weekend Update” Reunion With Seth, Amy & Tina

Tonight’s all-star SNL featured a favorite “Weekend Update” staple — and reunited three of Update’s favorite anchors. “‘Really!’ with Seth & Amy” morphed into “‘Really! With Seth, Amy & Tina,'” bringing together the Update anchors who have manned the desk for the last decade: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers. Fey, who started as “Update” co-anchor in 2000, brought on Poehler to replace Jimmy Fallon in 2004, and Meyers replaced Fey after her departure in 2006, and is now the sole “Update” anchor. “Really!” began during the Poehler-Meyers tenure — and tonight, the three came together to sarcastically blast the news — from the Times Square bomber (“Have you ever been to Times Square? It’s where suspicious goes to hang out!”) to Thursday’s stock market-crashing typo (“How is there not a backup system? When I delete a picture on Facebook, it asks me if I’m sure!”) to Greece’s economic implosion (“Come on, Greece, you’re embarrassing yourself in front of Turkey” — courtesy of Greek-blooded Fey, zinging in two languages).
