New Footage Reveals Insane Explosion-Riddled Raid on El Chapo Hideout
CNN released footage taken by the body cameras of Mexican military officers, who led the raid on the hideout where Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman was discovered last week.
While the network could only show a fragment of the video they received, the scene shows extremely heavy gunfire with the drug lord’s men, soldiers yelling orders at each other, and additional commentary from Rafael Romo saying that grenades and heavy weapons were used at the scene.
While discussing with Carol Costello, Romo described how Guzman managed to briefly escape the house while his men continued to battle with the navy officers. Romo said the drug lord went down a manhole and into the sewers of Los Mochis, but he was arrested by police after he stole a car when he resurfaced.
Mexico plans to extradite Guzman to the United States, where he will be incarcerated on drug trafficking charges.
