Report: North Koreans Are Being Questioned, Punished For Not Having Grieved Enough

 

You’ll likely remember how, after news broke of former North Korean “supreme leader” Kim Jong-il‘s death, hordes of North Koreans were filmed crying, gnashing their teeth and falling to the ground in public, dramatic displays of mourning. There was a reason for that — new reports our of North Korea indicate that citizens are now being arrested for not having mourned enough.

On Thursday’s America Live, host Megyn Kelly opened up a segment about this with one simple question: “Seriously?”

Fox News’ Greg Palkot made sure to note that these reports are based on accounts from defectors and informants. That said, those informants have indicated that the North Korean government is holding very harsh “truth sessions” with people who did not show enough grief, did not show up to public grieving events, tired to leave or who tried to use cell phones.
