Robert Gibbs: ‘Slow Roll of Concerning Headlines’ for Hillary Clinton
It was a busy week in politics, and one story that got overshadowed, according to NBC’s Chuck Todd, was a Wall Street Journal exposée on donations by foreign government to the Clinton Foundation. Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs believes this latest development is part of a “slow roll of concerning headlines” for the likely presidential candidate.
“I think there’s no doubt that the appearances are awkward at best, and I think they’re going to have to do something in the very short term to deal with this in a way that puts it off the table,” Gibbs said on Meet the Press.
He went on to say that many questioned Clinton’s earlier actions leading up to a potential presidential campaign, including her book tour and other speeches. Gibbs added, though, that he thinks “things will get better” for Clinton once a formal campaign is established.

“There’s been a slow roll of concerning headlines for a long time,” he said.
