Rosie Perez Says Tearful Goodbye on The View

Yesterday, the day-time revolving-door talk show that is The View announced co-host Rosie Perez was leaving after slightly less than a year. The news came just days after a report that the producers wanted to dump Perez and former Bush official Nicolle Wallace, who joined the show for its reboot last year.

On Wednesday morning Perez said a tearful goodbye to her coworkers and the audience.

Perez saved special praise for the show’s captain, Whoopi Goldberg, who took over after Rosie O’Donnell left last year. “I want to thank you for everything, your guidance, your professionalism, and most of all, your friendship,” Perez said. “It’s a dream sitting here with you.”

“I want to give a special thank you to the Latin community,” she added. “It’s a huge honor to be the first Latina on The View. What the hell took y’all so long?”

Wallace’s fate is unknown.
