Rubio: Trump Lacks ‘Fundamental Understanding of Foreign Policy’

With his narrow second-place finish in South Carolina last night, Marco Rubio today began what will likely be a big contrast with Donald Trump over the past few weeks.

On Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace asked Rubio to make the case for him over Trump. Rubio said first that he’s running an optimistic campaign while Trump is all about the negative. “We need real answers to real problems.”

“You can’t just say,” Rubio said, “you’re gonna make America great again, you have to explain how you’re going to do it.”

He even said that Trump has, over the course of the campaign, not really demonstrated a “fundamental understanding of foreign policy.”
