Santa Fe School Shooting Survivor Offers Chilling Commentary: ‘Eventually It Was Going to Happen Here Too’

A student survivor of the Santa Fe High School shooting this morning made some rather chilling remarks when asked whether she ever expected this would happen at her school.

Paige, a 17-year-old student, described hearing “loud booms” and realizing what they were “once I heard screaming.”

The local news reporter asked, “Was there a part of you that was, like, ‘this isn’t real, this would not happen in my school’?”

She said this in response:

“No, there wasn’t… It’s been happening everywhere. I’ve always kind of felt like eventually it was going to happen here too. I wasn’t surprised, I was just scared.”
