Sen Kennedy Predicts All Of Trump’s Nominees Will Be Confirmed — But One Is ‘On the Bubble’: ‘He’s Dug In Like a Tick’
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) predicted one of President Donald Trump’s nominees could have trouble getting confirmed by the Senate, while the rest are sure to make it through.
On Fox & Friends on Monday, Kennedy said Trump is “dug in like a tick” on his nominees and all will be confirmed unless they act like a “meathead.” He called Tulsi Gabbard, nominee for Director of National Intelligence (DNI), the most up in the air nominee.
“I expect most if not all of them will be confirmed,” he said. “Number one, the president’s dug in like a tick. He wants these people. But number two, you’ve got to remember these confirmation hearings matter. If a nominee acts like a complete meathead or starts screaming like he or she is part of a prison riot, people are gonna say ‘woah, we need to take a second look.’ But short of that, I think most if not all will be confirmed. The one most on the bubble, as you know as well as I do, is Tulsi Gabbard.”
Brian Kilmeade noted that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has already said he has serious foreign policy questions for Gabbard, but noted that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had pushback and was eventually confirmed.
“He had a great hearing,” Kennedy said. “The guy was a rock star at his hearing.”
Gabbard’s hearing before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will take place on Thursday morning. Another controversial nominee, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), will have his Senate hearing a day prior.
