SNL‘s Rahm Emanuel to Peter Rouse: “Are You Ready To Kill A Man, Pete?”
Tonight, Saturday Night Live opened with a sketch that lampooned Rahm Emanuel‘s tearful White House farewell speech. Fred Armisen‘s Barack Obama opens the segment with a rather harsh assessment of Emanuel, calling him “a man who has twisted a few arms and poked a few chests. A man who knows no fear, but knows how to make others afraid.”
Andy Samberg, done up as Rahm Emanuel, then takes the stage and begins to assess both his time as Obama’s chief of staff and his own personality: “Do I lack even basic social skills? Absolutely.”
Samberg proceeds to advise a terrified-looking Bobby Moynihan, playing Emanuel replacement Peter Rouse, telling him just what he’ll have to do as Obama’s chief adviser. That exchange leads to our favorite line: “Are you ready to kill a man, Pete?”
