Star Wars Actor Bites Back at Fox’s Ingraham Trashing Him Over Trump Monologues on Kimmel: ‘Jimmy, That’s My Gift To You’
Actor Diego Luna laughed off Fox News’ Laura Ingraham trashing his recent monologues on Jimmy Kimmel Live! based around immigration and President Donald Trump.
On Thursday, Luna wrapped up his week filling in for Jimmy Kimmel by pointing out that he had gifted the comedian with Fox News coverage. The Andor and Rogue One actor played a clip of Fox News’ Ingraham and Raymond Arroyo both trashing his monologues against ICE raids and Trump’s deportation policies. Ingraham claimed she did not know who Luna was and that she had never seen Kimmel’s show.
“There has been such an outpouring of support over the past few days. And last night, last night I got the highest honor a late night host can receive,” Luna said as he introduced the clip of Ingraham and Arroyo.
“When did the comedy and entertainment shows, Laura, become an excuse for boorish political commentary?” Arroyo said as Ingraham dismissed Luna and Kimmel as not even close to her radar.
In the monologue that upset the pair, Luna argued that some illegal migrants are law-abiding and they even pay taxes.
“Is he speaking from experience? Why do we care?” Arroyo asked.
“Again, I don’t even know who he is,” Ingraham stated.
“He’s an actor on a Disney+ show called Andor,” Arroyo explained.
“Oh, okay, sorry I missed that,” Ingraham sarcastically said.
Luna is the lead on Andor, which just wrapped a two-season run on Disney’s streaming service. The first season earned it eight Emmy nominations. The series is a spinoff from 2016’s Rogue One, which grossed more than $500 million in the United States and more than $1 billion worldwide.
Luna laughed off Ingraham being clueless about who he is and took the criticism well enough, telling Kimmel his hit on Fox News was proof his guest hosting gig was a success.
“By the way, Jimmy, that’s my gift to you. Yeah, whatever name this woman has, I got her to finally watch your show!” he said.
