Stephen Colbert Unveils Marvel’s New Black Captain America

 


Marvel used The View to reveal the new female Thor, so it only made sense that the comic book empire turned to The Colbert Report to present the latest iteration of Captain America. Last night, Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada sat down with Stephen Colbert to announce that Sam Wilson, who was The Falcon, will be taking over for Captain America.

As Colbert pointed out, “This new guy is black. Doesn’t that make him Captain Africa-America?”

When Colbert first heard there might be an opening for a new Captain America, he thought he might be in the running, so the news came as a bit of a disappointment. But as Quesada confirmed, there is now a vacancy when it comes to The Falcon. The Comedy Central host was more than satisfied when he saw what he might look like in that role:
