The Daily Show Debuting New Correspondent Tonight

The Daily Show is getting its newest correspondent tonight: one improv comedian named Jordan Klepper. Klepper will appear tonight “from Ukraine” for a report with Jon Stewart.

Klepper has been a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York for three years and previously did improv with the famed Second City group in Chicago.

In the past, Daily Show correspondents have ventured outside the studio and to places like Iraq, China, Iran, and most recently “Sochi-ish” for the Winter Olympics.

Being a correspondent on The Daily Show has been a great stepping stone for some comedians. Stephen Colbert was a correspondent on the show until he got his own program in 2005. Josh Gad had a short stint as a Daily Show correspondent before going on to star in the smash Broadway hit The Book of Mormon. And after his well-received guest-hosting stint last year, John Oliver is getting his own HBO show debuting later this year.

Be sure to check back later for Mediaite’s coverage of tonight’s Daily Show.
