These People Are Furious at CNN for Bailing on The Sixties for Obama
When President Barack Obama decided to address the nation on his decision to authorize military airstrikes and humanitarian aid to Iraq Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. ET, CNN was forced to cut its weekly episode of The Sixties short and go to live coverage of his remarks. At least some people who were watching the show at the time were not too happy about the move, taking to Twitter to complain:
Fuck, @CNN! I was enjoying The Sixties segment! You better bring it back after Obama's speech!

I get "breaking news" takes precedence but if @CNN is going to air a series(The Sixties)there should be an option to keep watching the show

When the network went to a panel of analysts to discuss Obama’s remarks rather than going directly back to the show after his short statement, the outrage grew:

Of course, this is the problem with Jeff Zucker’s “more shows and less newscasts” approach to programming. It may attract a whole bunch of viewers who don’t normally watch CNN, but when real breaking news happens and those shows get brushed aside, they are not going to be happy.
Ironically, it was a clip of a press conference from President John F. Kennedy that was airing at the moment CNN cut to Anderson Cooper and the breaking news about Iraq. You can watch the moment the switchover happened below, via CNN:
