Today Show Prank Hilariously Falls Apart Right Before Our Eyes
It’s April Fools’ Day, which means everyone in the media is going to be pranking everyone today just for the hell of it (just the mere prospect of this being real will give people nightmares).
Savannah Guthrie decided to pull a fast one on her Today Show pals, inviting them all to eat Oreos. Except they weren’t normal Oreos; they were prank Oreos! Still edible, just more toothpaste-y and less cream-filled.
But the way it turned out has already put this stunt in the running for this year’s worst April Fools’ Day media prank.
For one thing, not all the intended targets were hit with the prank, and from there the whole thing went downhill with everyone laughing more at the flawed execution than the fact they just ate toothpaste Oreos.
Matt Lauer, Tamron Hall, Willie Geist, and Al Roker just sat there laughing, with Roker quipping, “This is about as lame as it gets.” Oh, I doubt it, some other news anchor will come along today with something lamer. The only question is who…
