Touré Consoles Republicans: ‘It Gets Better,’ Except Obama ‘Won’t Stop Being Black’

MSNBC host Touré sat down for a piece broadcast on FX’s Totally Biased last week in which he took the opportunity to console Republicans on their recent electoral loss to President Barack Obama. In the style of the “It Gets Better” YouTube videos featuring celebrities helping troubled, gay youth work through their trying teenage years, Touré counseled Republicans that Obama’s second term – like all things – will pass. The only way in which Obama will seriously disappoint Republicans, Touré said, because “he won’t stop being black.”

“I know how you feel. Misunderstood. Confused. Alone. Bullied. But I can tell you from my own experience: it gets better,” Touré began his “It Gets Better” video message to the GOP.

“You represent that American spirit that never gives up,” Touré added. “You’re relentless, like zombies.”

“The president is going to implement half of your agenda anyway, so relax,” Touré concluded. “There’s only one thing you want that he won’t do: he won’t stop being black.” He ended by consoling Republicans that the next president will probably be Caucasian.
