Trump Shouts at Fox & Friends Hosts About Mueller And Threatens to Interfere With Justice Department

President Donald Trump’s interview with Fox & Friends went off the rails on Thursday morning, taking the form of a wild campaign rally-style rant that the morning hosts did their best to wrangle.

In one portion of his nearly thirty-minute call-in, Trump appeared to aim a threat at his own Justice Department. That came at the end of the interview when Steve Doocy tried to bring Trump back to a light topic of conversation, asking him to rate his presidency.

Trump replied by first embarking on a rant against his foes: “Look, I’m fighting a battle against a horrible group of deep-seeded people — drain the swamp — that are coming up with all sorts of phony charges against me and they’re not bringing up real charges against the other side.”

“So we have a phony deal going on and it’s a cloud over my head. I’ve been able to escape that cloud because the message now — everyone knows it’s a fix, okay? It’s a witch-hunt. And they know that I’ve been able to message it.”

Then, briefly, Trump calmed down and gave himself an “A+” for his job performance, “despite the fact that I have a phony cloud over my head that doesn’t exist.”

He then continued his rant: “It was what the Democrats used to try and make an excuse for their loss of an election, for their loss of the electoral college they should never lose because the electoral college is set up perfectly for the Democrats and this was an absolute, total beating in the electoral college. They should never lose the electoral college and they did and they got swamped.”

“Does it make you want to talk to Mueller, and put an end to it?” Brian Kilmeade asked.

Trump lobbed his go-to (but wholly unfounded) allegation that Mueller’s team investigating his campaign’s ties to Russia is comprised of Democrats and “Hillary Clinton people.” He then embarked on another breathless rant slamming his own FBI and Justice Department.

“And you look at the corruption at the top of the FBI, it’s a disgrace!” he exclaimed, before threatening to interfere with the Justice Department:

“And our Justice Department — which I try and stay away from, but at some point I won’t — our Justice Department should be looking at that kind of stuff, not the nonsense of collusion with Russia!”

“There is no collusion with me and Russia, and everyone knows it,” Trump concluded, as his Fox & Friends interviewees did their best to reign him in and move on.
