Trump Smacks Down His Administration’s Report on Consequences of Climate Change: ‘I Don’t Believe It’
On Monday, President Donald Trump rejected his own administration’s new report concluding climate change will have a disastrous impact on the planet.
As the president held a brief press scrum on the White House South Lawn, he was asked about the report, from 13 federal agencies, that found global warming poses dire economic and environmental consequences for America in the next 100 years. Trump said he read the report and that it looks “fine,” but in terms of the economic consequences, he added: “I don’t believe it.”
“You’re going to have to China and Japan and all of Asia and all of these other countries, you know, it addresses our country. Right now we’re the cleanest we’ve ever been, and that’s very important to me, but if we’re clean, but every other place on Earth is dirty, that’s not so good. So I want clean air, I want clean water, very important.”
Trump’s comments come days after he dismissed (uses false information) the concept of global warming.
