Pentagon Announces Trump’s Military Parade Postponed

On Thursday, multiple outlets reported that President Donald Trump‘s military parade has been postponed.

“Breaking: Pentagon says the military parade – requested by the President and originally scheduled for Veterans Day – will be postponed,” CNN’s Jim Sciutto tweeted out.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson also announced the news on his show, saying: “The Pentagon has announced a delay, they say, to President Trump’s planned military parade. The parade was originally scheduled to take place November 10th, the day before Veterans’ Day. It was pushed back to sometime in 2019. The overall cost, which is inspired by a similar parade in France, expected to be $80 million in that ballpark.”

Earlier today, NBC reported the costs of the parade had skyrocketed.

“The estimated cost of the military parade requested by President Donald Trump has risen again, this time to as much as $92 million, according to a defense official.

The cost of the parade, scheduled for Nov. 10 in Washington, was initially reported as $12 million, and was based on the cost of the victory parade held in the capital after the 1991 Gulf War, said the officials. The Washington Post estimated the cost of the 1991 victory parade as $8 million.”

The reason for the parade’s postponement by the Pentagon has not yet been announced.
