Trump’s Personnel Director Tells Fox News They Are ‘Cleaning House’: ‘It’s Time for a Fresh Start’

White House Personnel Director Sergio Gor told Fox News on Thursday that the new Trump administration is “cleaning house.”

During a Thursday afternoon interview with anchor John Roberts, the Fox News anchor asked Gor how the White House plans to stop anti-Trump personnel “buried deep” within the administration from sabotaging President Donald Trump’s second term.

Gor responded by claiming the personnel office will root out and terminate Biden holdovers that “have burrowed in” the White House.

ROBERTS: So in his first term in office, the president was repeatedly torpedoed by people who were buried deep within some of these agencies and some not so deep as well. I mean, one of the one of the most famous torpedoes came from a guy named Miles Taylor, who was the chief of staff to Kirstjen Nielsen at the Department of Homeland Security, who famously penned an op-ed under the title of anonymous. How do you prevent people like that from coming into your administration?

TRUMP: You make an incredible point, John. I mean, we’re hiring incredible people and large amounts. On the flip side of that is we’re also cleaning house. And so we started the process of terminating a lot of positions. We’re cleaning house and boards and commissions in the government. DOGE has done an exceptional job. The hiring freeze in place is enabling us to vet new people coming in and to other positions also. But you have to clean house. Look, it’s one of those things — NSC declared yesterday, they are not holding holdovers from the Biden era. So one of the mistakes that has happened previously is administration to administration will keep people that have burrowed in. We’re not doing that. We’re avoiding that. It’s time for a fresh start and America deserves the best.
