Tucker Carlson Tells Viewers to ‘Resist, Threaten to Sue, Make a Lot of Noise’ If Employers Mandate Vaccines
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson told viewers on Friday night they should “resist” if employers mandate they get vaccinated.
Carlson, who has said he is personally pro-vaccine, has come under criticism for irresponsible commentary about the vaccines, and he has been very vocal in denouncing the idea of businesses mandating vaccines.
On Friday night, Carlson covered CNN firing three employees who were coming to the office unvaccinated.
After mocking the network for firing them but keeping on Jeffrey Toobin, Carlson asked, “Are they high-level people? Or are they more likely studio technicians, potentially African-American studio technicians? And how did CNN learn about their vaccination status? What else do they know about people’s medical histories over there?”
As Mediaite reported last month, CNN’s vaccine policy is that “Covid-19 vaccines will be required to return to the office in the US.”
Fox News has its own system in place. Fox Corp’s policy says that “fully vaccinated individuals who have entered their vaccination information into Workday are not required to wear a mask or socially distance while at work,” while unvaccinated employees “must continue to comply with all of FOX’s COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines, including social distancing and mask-wearing at work unless an exception applies (e.g., they are alone in an office).”
Towards the end of the segment, Carlson added this:
Obviously we’re in the middle of a moral panic, driven by politicians who are dividing us for their own power. But if you face this, if your employer tries to force you to get medicine you don’t need and threatens to fire you if you don’t, our unsolicited advice is resist, threaten to sue, make a lot of noise, don’t go along with it. You’re an American. You don’t have to.
Hosts like Carlson and Laura Ingraham have continued raising questions about the vaccines. Some others like Steve Doocy have been vocal in encouraging people to get the shot, and a recent poll suggested vaccine hesitancy among Fox viewers has dropped in the past month.
