Van Susteren Takes Veiled Shot at Sharpton over Sterling Outrage

Greta Van Susteren used her Off the Record commentary Monday night to take a veiled swipe at MSNBC host Al Sharpton for his commentary on Donald Sterling. Van Susteren said at the outset racists like Sterling should be exposed “out in the open so they can be condemned.”

That being said, she doesn’t like the idea of people using Sterling’s comments to fire up the rhetoric. She said “not throwing gas on the fire” is what’s called for at this point, while footage of Sharpton aired alongside her, and Van Susteren concluded with, “Reverend Sharpton, are you listening?”

Over the past two days, Sharpton has called for a major boycott of the Clippers if Sterling is not suspended, and that the NBA should go so far as to threaten disbanding the Clippers if Sterling isn’t out of there soon.
