Verdict Reached in Martin MacNeill Murder Trial

 

Early Saturday morning, the jury in the murder trial of Dr. Martin MacNeill handed down their verdict, finding the defendant guilty of first degree murder. The Utah jury convicted MacNeill of killing his wife, Michele MacNeill, by subduing her with drugs following a cosmetic face-lift surgery and leaving her to drown in a bathtub.

The jury returned the guilty verdict 11 hours after going into deliberation, delivering the verdict at 1am Saturday morning. When MacNeill is sentenced on January 7th, he will face 15 years to life in prison, will an additional 1-15 years for obstruction of justice.
