Warren Lights Up Trump For Sounding Like a ‘Two-Bit Dictator’ During RNC Speech

Screen Shot 2016-07-22 at 8.52.22 AMEven though Elizabeth Warren told Stephen Colbert that she doesn’t expect to be Hillary Clinton‘s pick for vice-president, it’s not going to stop her from tearing into Donald Trump any time soon.

The Massachusetts senator appeared on The Late Show Thursday night, and as per usual, she held nothing back with her disdain for Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention.

“He sounded like some two-bit dictator of some country that you couldn’t find on a map,” Warren said. “He sounded like a dictator of a small country rather than a man who is running for the highest office of the strongest democracy on the face of this earth.”

As Warren continued to call out the nastiness of the convention, Colbert tried to reign her in with questions about the political system being “rigged,” and why Trump and Bernie Sanders were able to create political movements from voter frustrations. Warren acknowledged that Americans have plenty of reasons to be angry, but that Trump proposes no real solutions that would help anyone beyond himself.

Colbert also mentioned Warren’s habit of locking horns with Trump on Twitter; but, when asked if her words made her a “bully,” Warren sarcastically feigned concern for the hurt feelings of the bombastic “poor little billionaire.”
