‘Was So Beautiful’: Fox Host Gushes Over ‘Very Simple Point’ Made by Ketanji Brown Jackson
Fox News host Emily Compagno praised Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson over her questioning of Colorado attorneys in the ballot ban case on Thursday.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Thursday about whether former President Donald Trump should be disqualified from appearing on Colorado’s state ballot due to his actions on January 6th, 2021.
Various justices expressed concern on the issue of individual states enforcing ballot bans that affect a national federal election. Moreover, Justice Jackson questioned why the court would err on the side of restricting democracy despite the ambiguity in the case.
Compagno praised Jackson for expressing hesitancy towards Colorado’s arguments against Trump, calling it “beautiful” during a monologue on Outnumbered:
Let’s say that Colorado was allowed to keep Trump off the ballot, then it would result in an electoral patchwork quilt. And what would happen then? This is the subdivision to the question how can one state affect the entire nation? Because the reality would be, let’s say a few states follow suit and then not everyone.
So, how would that be democracy if a presidential candidate was allowed on some ballot but not on all? And I just have to underscore for the third time here, because Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was so beautiful in this very simple point, if there’s any ambiguity at all, why would we ever rule and on the side of restricting democracy?
Pundits and analysts on various networks have indicated that the Supreme Court may likely side with Trump by a large majority based on the questions asked by justices during Thursday’s court proceedings.
