Hugh Jackman Hops Through 2014 Tony Awards Opening

A bearded Hugh Jackman opened the 2014 Tony Awards Sunday night with a musical number that started on the red carpet outside Radio City Music Hall and hopped its way into the theater, down the aisles, backstage, into an awkward elevator with last year’s host Neil Patrick Harris and ultimately onto the stage.
There was even a brief cameo from Jersey Boys director Clint Eastwood. While it was a physical workout for sure, Jackman’s opening number was relatively understated, ending in a few sung lines before he turned the stage over to a performance from Best Musical nominee After Midnight.
