WATCH LIVE: Ukrainians Gather in Independence Square

Two days after Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych fled his country following a week of increasingly violent demonstrations in Kiev, Ukrainians are once again gathering in Independence Square.

The protests, which began more than three months ago, were initially sparked by President Viktor Yanukovych’s decision to turn away from a trade deal with the European Union and towards Russia instead. They have grown more violent as authorities have cracked down on new laws limiting the right to protest in Ukraine.
