WATCH: McCain Jokes About ‘Waterboarding’ John Kerry At Confirmation Hearings

Senator John McCain has spent a good amount of time over the last month criticizing the film Zero Dark Thirty for glorifying torture. But that doesn’t mean he can’t joke about it every once and a while.

At a press conference today, McCain previewed Senator John Kerry‘s upcoming confirmation hearings in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “We will look forward to interrogating him at his hearing next week, mercilessly,” McCain joked to the press today. “We will bring back for the only time waterboarding to get the truth out of him.”

This isn’t the first time the long-time colleagues have had some fun with each other. Last month, during another press conference, McCain teased “Secretary Kerry” for being President Obama‘s second choice for Secretary of State after Susan Rice, while Kerry fired back with a jab at “President McCain.”

Unlike Chuck Hagel, who has met resistance as the president’s pick for Defense Secretary, Kerry is expected to be confirmed without much opposition for head of the State Department.
