WATCH: Tom Brokaw’s Phone Goes Off During Live MSNBC Segment
Twitter erupted Tuesday evening after Tom Brokaw‘s phone alarm went off during MSNBC’s live election coverage. Take that as a sign of just how uneventful the 2014 midterm elections have been thus far.
As Rachel Maddow discussed the Republican Party’s chances at taking the U.S. Senate from the Democrats, Brokaw’s nuclear alarm ringtone loudly went off. Casual viewers might’ve assumed it was an MSNBC audio tech having some fun with the on-screen graphics that hinted at a Republican Senate victory but, alas, it was just Brokaw’s phone, which he turned off, on-air, and mimicked a phone call with his wife as a goof.
