WATCH: Young South African Student Drops Rhymes For Obama

During a tour of the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation Youth Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, President Obama got an up close and personal performance from a 15-year-old student Aviwe Mtongana. The young rapper, who also goes by the name “Katmeister,” dropped rhymes about his life in South Africa as Obama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and others stood alongside him and watched.

When Mtongana was done, Obama stepped in saying, “You gotta drop the mic,” a move he perfected when he slow jammed the news with Jimmy Fallon last year. It was unclear whether that signature hip hop maneuver had made it all the way to South Africa.

The president wraps up his three-country tour of Africa today with a stop in Tanzania.
