Paris Terror Suspect Gets Love Letters From Admirers Sent to His Prison Cell

salah 4Salah Abdeslam has been in prison as a suspect in the Paris terror attacks since he was found at the end of one of the largest man hunts in European history. He is accused of being involved in the attacks which happened last year and killed 130 people.

Since then, while he’s been in prison, he’s been receiving a lot of mail- specifically, love letters from admirers of his, according to local media. Some of the letters come from a 24 year old woman named Jenny, who writes to him as an attempt to “take his mind off everything,” urging him not to give up despite the “difficult times.” She finished one letter by writing, “there is a woman who wants to help and support you. Love, Jenny.”

Fatima, a woman from his neighborhood also writes to him with updates on the goings-on back home. Loreen wants to help Abdeslam get back on track with his life. She thinks he was used.

This phenomenon is not at all uncommon. Charles Manson and Ted Bundy all had admirers who wrote to them. At one point, Manson had a fiancé. The reasons people are inclined to write to inmates vary. Some people want to help a person they feel is broken. Others are looking for fame.
