Simon Ateba Mocked for Breathless Speculation on Kamala Harris’ Husband Meeting Another Woman at a Coffee Shop: ‘Who Cares?’
White House correspondent Simon Ateba decided to go for the most sensationalist framing possible while telling his followers that he saw Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband as he was out for coffee.
The Today News Africa correspondent, known for his disruptive antics in White House press briefings, posted a series of tweets on Wednesday about how he saw Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff sitting “with an unknown woman” at a cafe near the White House. He also included a video of the two leaving as he wondered “Is Vice President Kamala Harris aware” of this meeting.
“I’m not insinuating anything,” Ateba tweeted, “but I hope Vice President Kamala Harris is safe in her marriage. Washington DC can be crazy folks.”

While Ateba claims not to be “insinuating anything,” the fact remains he chose to broach the subject of Harris’ marriage despite the fact that Emhoff’s meeting was in the middle of the day, in a very public location, and Ateba produced no evidence suggesting anything sordid about it. As such, Ateba’s tweets were slammed by those like Ron DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw, who suspended her political disagreements with Emhoff to ask what was so scandalous about this?
Not a fan of theirs but who cares? I dont see whats scandalous about having coffee with someone in broad daylight, maybe they work together or are friends.
