Biden Smiles Awkwardly While Dodging Question About Trump’s Claim That He’s a ‘Political Prisoner’

President Joe Biden offered reporters a big smile after delivering an address about an Israeli ceasefire offer to Hamas and fielding a question about Donald Trump’s reaction to his conviction on Thursday.

While walking away from the podium following his remarks on the war in the Middle East, a reporter shouted a question.

“Mr. President, can you tell us, sir, Donald Trump refers to himself as a political prisoner and blames you directly. What’s your response to that, sir?” Biden was asked.

The query caused Biden to stop in his tracks, turn to face the press again, and smile broadly while seemingly weighing the potential risks and rewards of answering. Ultimately, he decided to press on while another reporter asked him if he thought the guilty verdict would “have an impact on the campaign” and whether Trump should “be on the ballot” at all.

“Little sly grin there from Biden as he’s asked a question by Kelly O’Donnell,” observed Fox News’ John Roberts as Fox dumped out of the event.

At a press conference of his own held earlier on Friday, Trump said that his legal troubles were “all done by Biden and his people. Maybe his people more importantly, I don’t know if Biden knows too much about it cause I don’t know if he knows about anything.”
