Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) took a jab at President Joe Biden on Friday for suggesting on Thursday he had forgotten DeSantis’ name.

“I guess I’m not surprised that Biden doesn’t remember me,” DeSantis said in response to a reporter’s question about it during a press conference in Panama City. “I guess the question is, what else has he forgotten?”
Biden was asked on Thursday about his response to DeSantis saying he would stand “in the way” of “too much interference from the federal government” related to Covid-19 policies. “Governor who?” Biden replied, before walking away.
“Biden has forgotten about the crisis on our southern border,” DeSantis added on Friday. “I can tell you that. Biden has forgotten about the inflation that’s biting the budgets of families all throughout our country. Biden has forgotten about the demonstrators who are fighting for freedom down in Cuba. Biden’s even forgotten about the Constitution itself, as we saw with what he did with this moratorium.”
The press conference was billed as one an event centered on the state of Florida’s economy, though Covid-19 largely took center stage. DeSantis also took the opportunity to aim at Biden directly.
“His vision is — just like in New York City — restaurants should ban young kids because they cannot be vaccinated,” DeSantis said. “Law-abiding citizens have to show proof of their medical records to go to the gym or attend an event? He wants that. But if you want to vote, he thinks it’s too much of a burden to show a picture ID.”
