‘Elon Musk Never Wears a Suit’: Fox’s Peter Doocy Questions Trump Press Secretary About Anger Over Zelensky’s Outfit

Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about an apparent double standard when it comes to the White House dress code on Wednesday.

Last week, a meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went off the rails and ended with the latter being thrown out of the presidential mansion.

Last week, Leavitt attributed the throw-down to a lack of respect, one that was allegedly exemplified by his decision not to wear a suit, rather than the army fatigues he’s donned since Russia invaded his country a little over three years ago.

On Wednesday, Doocy challenged that explanation of the anger at Zelensky.

“We know that some officials here were mad that Zelensky showed up last week without a suit for his meeting in the Oval Office. But Elon Musk never wears a suit,” observed Doocy during a press briefing.

“He did last night,” interjected Leavitt.

“So what is the dress code?” continued the unfazed Doocy.

“Well, Elon Musk wore a suit last night,” replied Leavitt. “I’m sure you saw it. It looked-”

“Was he spooked by Zelensky getting kicked out?” followed up Doocy.

“No, I don’t think so. I’m just pointing out that he did wear a suit last night. And I think the president liked that very much — and he looked great,” answered Leavitt.
