Natalie Johnson, the former communications director for Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), went nuclear on her old boss over her media campaign to restrict bathroom usage on Capitol grounds based on biological sex on Wednesday, submitting that it’s less about conviction than it is about getting on TV.
On Monday, Mace introduced a resolution to ensure that transgender individuals use bathrooms that align with the sex they were born as rather than their gender identity ahead of Rep.-elect Sarah McBride’s (D-DE) being sworn in. Mace and her resolution have attracted quite a lot of attention over the last few days and Mace has been actively campaigning for it in the media.
On Tuesday, Mace told NewsNation’s Leland Vittert that she had received death threats over her advocacy, and her social media feeds have been filled posts about the subject.
Come Wednesday afternoon, Johnson had tired of it.
Sharing a screenshot of a mass text shared by Mace’s camp that read “I don’t want to see your junk in my bathroom. It’s Rep. Mace The Trans Mob wasnt k*ll me. But I FOUGH BACK. And WON.”
Johnson captioned her post, “I don’t want to see your botched, cheap hooker-inspired boob job on my television. Can we introduce a bill to bar that?”
“If you think this bill is about protecting women and not simply a ploy to get on Fox News, you’ve been fooled,” she added, posting another screenshot a tweet Mace posted in 2021 that read “I strongly support LGBTQ rights. No one should be discriminated against.”

“I have friends and family that identify as LGBTQ,” said Mace at the time. “Understanding how they feel and how they’ve been treated is important. Having been around gay, lesbian, and transgender people has informed my opinion over my lifetime.”
Johnson had previously denounced Mace in October of last year when she joined with seven of her colleagues to oust then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and embarked on a media tour to defend her decision.
