Fox’s Peter Doocy Reports Republicans Still Have Not Provided ‘Any Concrete Evidence’ Connecting Joe Biden to Hunter
Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy made it crystal clear on Friday that House Republicans have yet to “provide any concrete evidence that Joe Biden personally profited from his son Hunter’s overseas business.”
Doocy made the remarks while reporting on Hunter Biden’s latest indictment for tax evasion and the White House’s response.
“Still, House Republicans are still trying to connect, they’re trying to trace money that originated overseas and went into Hunter Biden’s accounts, two accounts that are controlled by Joe Biden,” Doocy reported before a clip of House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) laying out his latest allegations:
We have now deposed witnesses who have testified under oath that he talked to them on the phone. I mean, the evidence is overwhelming and the American people see through this. It’s time for the Bidens to tell the truth. I mean, they cannot lie to the American people anymore. The walls are closing in on the president, you know.
“Here’s that White House response. This baseless stunt is not rooted in facts or reality, but extreme House Republicans’ shameless desire to abuse their power to smear President Biden. And it’s worth noting in this latest 56-page indictment, the only Biden accused of wrongdoing is Hunter,” Doocy continued, quoting a White House spokesman.
Fox then ran a clip of former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder defending Biden on CNN, saying, “That remains to be seen. You know, the charges are against Hunter Biden. I have seen no indication that there’s any kind of connection between the president and the actions for which his son has been charged.”
After Holder, Doocy then wrapped the segment, concluding, “The House Oversight Committee, has been at this for years, and they have so far not been able to provide any concrete evidence that Joe Biden personally profited from his son Hunter’s overseas business. But they are going to try again with this impeachment inquiry that’s set to start next week.”
Anchor Stuart Varney quickly thanked Doocy and moved on.
