‘Hounds!’ Trump Spox Lashes Out in Comical Driveway Rant at Press ‘Obsessed’ With DOGE Chief ‘For Some Reason’

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt lashed out at reporters for asking about newly-discovered DOGE administrator Amy Gleason in a rant dismissing their concern over one of the biggest news stories of the new administration.

The Elon Musk “chainsaw” approach to government has sparked confusion as Musk doubled down on the emails that sparked a revolt at various agencies — a demand for five “bullet points” on what they did the past week or face unemployment.

There has also been confusion over who is actually in charge of DOGE — until it emerged Tuesday that career official Amy Gleason has been given the “acting” title of DOGE administrator after weeks of administration officials after weeks of administration officials dodging questions being about the matter.

On top of all that, Republicans have faced raucous and hostile constituents at town halls in red states, with voters angry about the cuts getting outsized media attention.

That context seemed to elude Leavitt as she fielded questions on the Northwest driveway of the White House, and lambasted reporters for even asking about Gleason — while still being unable to provide basic facts like when she took the job:

REPORTER: When exactly did Amy Gleason start her job as DOGE administrator?

KAROLINE LEAVITT: So Amy Gleason has been the DOGE administrator for quite some time, I believe several weeks, maybe a month. I’m not actually sure of this specific timeline.

She’s a career official. She’s doing her job as the administrator of this organization.

I know everybody’s very interested in her name and who she is and what she does. There’s a lot of people who work for the federal government. They’re just trying to do their jobs. And, you know, that’s what she’s doing.

REPORTER: Multiple DOGE staffers told us yesterday that they found out about her being the administration– administrator yesterday. Why is that?

KAROLINE LEAVITT: You have to ask them? They’re clearly unaware. I don’t know.

REPORTER: Did you announce her position to the rest of the DOGE staff?

KAROLINE LEAVITT: We we– everybody knew, and we said who she was to all of you. Because you are hounds in the media who are so obsessed with this for some reason!

So in the effort of transparency, we told you who that person is.

There are so many bigger things in the world than who the DOGE administrator is!

But for some reason, everybody in the press corps is so obsessed with this that you were incessantly asking!
