Jasmine Crockett Torches John Fetterman for Criticizing Her Viral ‘Choose Your Fighter’ Video: ‘I Don’t Show Up’ to the Floor of Congress ‘In Hoodies’
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) went after Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) for criticizing recent Democratic party tactics.
In an interview on CNN’s State of the Union, Jake Tapper confronted Crockett about the widely-mocked “Choose Your Fighter” TikTok video — which was slammed by Fetterman as “bizarre.”
“Fetterman has been criticizing your party for ‘undignified antics and a sad cavalcade of self-owns’ during the president’s address to Congress,” Tapper said. “What’s your response to Senator Fetterman?”
Crockett laughed as Tapper asked his question, and then sounded off about the Pennsylvania Senator and his trademark hoodie.
“He’s not the one to talk about anything,” Crockett said. “I mean, this is a guy that doesn’t seemingly want to own a suit. own a suit, I’m not really sure. But I don’t show up in hoodies when I’m going on the floor.”
The Texas congresswoman defended the video — in which six female Democratic members of Congress jumped up-and-down in boxing stances — by telling Tapper that it’s “important that people see that we’re real people.”
“We were not on the House floor jumping around at all — whereas Senator Fetterman is consistently walking around the Senate chamber and he is walking around in such a way that they literally had to change the rules in the Senate so that he could walk around that way,” Crockett said. “So I just don’t think that he’s necessarily the one to actually have an opinion about this.”
