‘Let it Begin Now’ Trump OKs Looming Government Shutdown as a ‘Biden Problem to Solve’— Despite Elon Musk Undermining

President-elect Donald Trump opined on a looming government shutdown after two spending bills failed to pass a Republican-led House of Representatives to avoid that scenario.
Trump took to social media amid growing discontent over congressional dysfunction to keep the government open over the holidays, and suggested that he’s more interested in the government shutting down over the holidays during the Biden administration than trying to help find a solution to a problem largely undermined by his most significant advisor, billionaire Elon Musk.
“If there is going to be a shutdown of the government, let it begin now, under the Biden Administration, not after January 20th, under ‘TRUMP.’” the President-elect wrote on Truth Social. “This is a Biden problem to solve, but if Republicans can help solve it, they will!”

An initial spending bill that had been agreed to was put forth Tuesday evening, and Speaker Mike Johnson appeared on Fox & Friends to help sell the bill. Unfortunately for Johnson, the bill was immediately dismissed by Musk, who seems to have become Trump’s most vocal advisor, to the degree that his involvement has elicited taunts from Democrats that he’s the actual acting president-elect.
Trump has not responded to those taunts, though Fox’s Lawrence Jones insisted Friday morning that he is unbothered by Democrats attacking and defending Musk’s attack of two separate spending bills— which Trump twice encouraged passing — as coming from Trump himself.
In Friday morning’s message, Trump appears to be okay with a government shutdown, presuming the blame is laid at the feet of President Joe Biden, who has been notably quiet about the ongoing congressional drama. However, one can understand the political benefits of not interceding into what critics might see as a House GOP circular firing squad.
