JD Vance Tweets, Then Deletes Post Calling Top Bannon Ally a ‘Mouth Breathing Imbecile’ Over Argument Endorsed by Trump

Vice President-elect JD Vance called Grace Chong, the CFO and COO of Bannon’s WarRoom, the media company owned by Steve Bannon, a “mouth breathing imbecile” for making an argument similar to one also made by President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Senate confirmed Embry Kidd to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to the outcry of many on the right, who expressed their anger over not enough Republicans showing up to try and block his ascension. Among those Republicans missing were Vance and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), who Trump has named as his nominee to lead the State Department.

Among the vexed was Chong, who retweeted posts calling on Vance and other Republicans to “get to work) and, in a since-deleted post of her own, reacted to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY)  promise to hold more votes on Wednesday night by writing “You guys better show up and do your one fricken job!! @JDVance @marcorubion and the rest of you Senate Republicans that didn’t bother to show up yesterday.”

Vance did not take kindly to the criticism, firing back that “Grace Chong is a mouth breathing imbecile who attacks those of us in the fight rather than make herself useful.”

He continued:

If I had shown up to the vote in question, the nominee would have succeeded 49-46 rather than 49-45. If every Republican had showed up, Fetterman would have come in and the Democrats still would have gotten their nominee across.

When this 11th Circuit vote happened, I was meeting with President Trump to interview multiple positions for our government, including for FBI Director.

I tend to think it’s more important to get an FBI director who will dismantle the deep state than it is for Republicans to lose a vote 49-46 rather than 49-45.

But that’s just me.

Vance later deleted his tweet as well.

Although Vance cited his work with Trump as an excuse for his absence, Trump seemingly endorsed Chong’s view shortly before Vance published his rejoinder to her criticism.

“The Democrats are trying to stack the Courts with Radical Left Judges on their way out the door. Republican Senators need to Show Up and Hold the Line — No more Judges confirmed before Inauguration Day!” he wrote on Truth Social Tuesday afternoon.

In an interview with Politico this summer, Vance boasted that “Steve Bannon and I are pretty close.”
