‘She Will Be On Our Team’: Trump Makes Nice About Former ‘Birdbrain’ Nikki Haley After ‘Nasty’ Campaign Destroying Each Other

Former President Donald Trump made nice in his first comments about former Amb. Nikki Haley since Haley quasi-endorsed him — following a “nasty” campaign in which Trump made racist attacks on Haley and Haley burned Trump to the ground on the regular.

This week, the Candidate Formerly Known as “Birdbrain” said she would be voting for Trump after tearing Trump apart for months, and after Trump used racialized mockery of her name during the campaign.

“I will be voting for Trump. Having said that, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech,” Haley said at a Hudson Institute event. “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me.”

In an exclusive post-rally interview with News 12’s Tara Rosenblum at Crotona Park in the Bronx, Trump made his first comments about Haley since she quasi-endorsed him, making nice with her but stopping short of adding her to his VP shortlist.

Instead, he told Rosenblum Haley will “be on our team in some form”:

TARA ROSENBLUM: A big night last night, Nikki Haley making her first public remarks since dropping out of the race.

She said that Joe Biden has been a catastrophe. And she said she’s voting for you.

I’m sure those were welcome remarks for you, but it also left a lot of people wondering, is there room for her on your team? Or better yet, your ticket?

DONALD TRUMP: Well, I think she’s going to be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, same thoughts. I appreciated what she said.

You know, we had a nasty campaign. It was pretty nasty. But she’s a very capable person, and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form. Absolutely.
