Sinclair Pulls Sponsored Segment Featuring Right-Wing Shock Jock Who Called for Killing Journalists, Politicians

A Sinclair Broadcasting Group spokesperson claimed the organization pulled the plug on a recurring sponsored segment they’ve aired which is hosted by a conspiratorial podcaster with a substantial track record of violent rhetoric.
The liberal watchdog organization Media Matters reported that between May and September, 16 Sinclair-affiliated TV stations aired a Goldco-sponsored investment segment starring Stew Peters. The segment features Sinclair meteorologist Brian van de Graaff hyping Peters’ credentials, including how Peters was the producer of Died Suddenly, a debunked anti-Covid vaccine film.
Beyond his conspiracy theories about the coronavirus and vaccines, Peters is known for pushing the Great Replacement theory, outlandish claims about the OceanGate submersible disaster, and there’s also his affiliation with white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
Peters has repeatedly called for the deaths of journalists, politicians, and members of the LGBTQ community. Peters also still wants vaccine proponents to die, judging by his recent Rumble segment where he railed against Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for “promoting the death jab so that more kids can be led to their slaughter.”
Media Matters received a statement from Sinclair about Peters’ segment, saying “We were not aware of the association and are reviewing our internal policies on sponsored content. The segment in question is no longer on our air.”
