Trump Convert Lindy Li Stunned Into Awkward Silence in Cringe Clip: ‘Are You Just Here To Ambush Me?’
High-profile Trump supporter Lindi Li fell apart during a podcast interview when host Tara Palmeri asked her a basic question about her in-the-works book Unburdened, which she’s billing as a tell-all about President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Formerly the DNC Mid-Atlantic Regional Chair and a Harris surrogate during the 2024 presidential election, Li did an about-face after Trump won and is now a full-on supporter and self-identified conservative. But many, including MAGA supporters, have called BS on Li, questioning her conversion and her claims of high-level influence in the defunct Biden-Harris campaigns.
Li has been making the rounds since her conversion and made a disastrous stop this week on an episode of The Tara Palmeri Show, hosted by journalist and former White House correspondent Tara Palmeri. The host set the table for the interview with a highly skeptical Substack post that details the preparations for the interview.
In one of many memorable exchanges, Palmeri challenged Li’s claims of closeness with Biden and unfettered access. She stunned Li into a painfully long silence by asking a simple question — in “which parts” of the White House was she allowed to roam free?
At first, Li tried to defend the claim that she was given “free reign” at the Biden White House, but quickly pivoted to complaining that Palmeri had violated the ground rules of the interview:
TARA PALMERI: You also wrote that he, quote, “gave me free reign of the White House.”
Like, what does that mean, having free reign of the White House?
LINDY LI: You could go to places that were usually cordoned off.
TARA PALMERI: Like where?
LINDY LI: Like when you go there on a tour, it’s usually roped off. Or at Christmas parties, it is like, areas are, you’re just not allowed there. But I–.
TARA PALMERI: Like what parts?
(LENGTHY AGONIZING SILENCE)
LINDY LI: I wasn’t in the residence. I don’t know the specific part, the names of the parts. (PAUSE) I don’ know what you’re trying to get at.
TARA PALMERI: No, I was just, I’m just curious, because I saw in the book you also wrote that um, that you could take calls from the Lincoln Bedroom.
LINDY LI: All right, I asked your producer not to share–.
TARA PALMERI: I know, but why are you being sensitive about a book that you’re putting out?
LINDY LI: Because it’s it’s in draft form right now.
TARA PALMERI: Oh okay.
LINDY LI: It’s not even done. So you’re sharing a form. That’s like really Rough and I specifically he promised me that you wouldn’t be sharing this rough draft with–.
It’s not ready to be published And you’re sharing a draft that’s not done.
TARA PALMERI: If it’s like a fact, it’s a fact. Like if you wrote it, you were probably gonna publish it, right?
LINDY LI: No, not necessarily. I didn’t.
TARA PALMERI: Why wouldn’t you share that? Like, why would you write that and not publish it?
LINDY LI: Because I’m working with somebody else on writing that book and I know what you’re referring to and I didn’t write that line.
TARA PALMERI: It was on a PDF that looked very, like, pitch book style. Like, it’s gonna, you know. If you’re coming out with a lot of really big claims, which I don’t doubt.
LINDY LI: I’m working with a ghost writer. That was his first draft. I did not write that line.
TARA PALMERI: He just made that up–.
LINDY LI: No, he didn’t make that up. Tara that is just not a that is just not a version– and again I Your producer said he wouldn’t share it’s it’s in draft form. It’s not– my book isn’t out yet, It’s even available for pre-orders. Okay, it’s not ready for public consumption. We are still writing the book.
TARA PALMERI: I just, it’s interesting to me because I don’t usually write things down like–
LINDY LI: i didn’t write it
TARA PALMERI: –share things that would be pitched or written.
LINDY LI: It’s not, it’s in draft form, it not even, we’re writing the book.
TARA PALMERI: Yeah. Okay, so I wanted to ask you to–.
LINDY LI: Are you just here to ambush me? Like what is going on now?
