Trump Torches Fox’s Karl Rove After Commentator’s Scorching 100-Day Verdict: ‘Total Loser!’
President Donald Trump escalated his war of words on Fox News personalities Sunday night with a shot at longtime GOP strategist and network contributor Karl Rove.
“I don’t need to have Karl Rove of Fox News to tell me what to do,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The guy’s a total Loser who’s been wrong about almost everything!”
The outburst came after Rove appeared on Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy to analyze Trump’s sagging poll numbers and offer advice for the president’s second-term messaging.
Rove suggested Trump should prioritize a strong economy and curbing inflation. The commentator urged Trump to address citizens on what he’s aiming to achieve with tariffs and other economic policies with a direct address from the Oval Office. In one remark, Rove criticized the president’s “problematic” repeated line about children not needing “30 dolls” for Christmas, as a way of saying that tariffs would likely impact the cost and availability of products for Americans.
“It sounds like Mr. Scrooge,” Rove jibed. “The ordinary American is like, ‘Wait a minute, I thought you were on my side, I did not think you’re on the side of I need to do with less.'”
His comments clearly did not sit well with the president.
Trump’s jab came just hours after he also demanded Fox News host Howard Kurtz “retire” after a segment on Media Buzz critiqued Trump’s decision to oust National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and aired commentary from other outlets.
Although Kurtz attempted to defend Trump during the panel, the president slammed him for doing a “pathetic” job: “It would be a lot better if he didn’t say anything.”
