A house in Arlington, Virginia exploded on camera after police attempted to serve a search warrant on Monday.
In a video posted by X user @connormaj, law enforcement could be seen approaching the residence before the house suddenly went up in an explosion.
The explosion, which appeared to completely destroy the house, created a large fireball and sent debris flying across the street.
Arlington County Police Department revealed on social media that officers had been investigating a suspect who had “discharged a flare gun from his residence,” when the explosion happened.
“As officers were attempting to execute a search warrant at the residence, the suspect discharged several rounds inside the home,” the police department claimed. “Subsequently, an explosion occurred at the residence and officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the explosion.”
While police officers on-scene at the time of the explosion reportedly suffered minor injuries, none were hospitalized.
A witness who recorded the explosion told Fox 5 DC that a man inside the house fired at law enforcement with a “high calibre weapon” after they drove a S.W.A.T. truck through his door.
The witness claimed that the house exploded following a shootout as law enforcement were preparing to ram the man’s window.
