WATCH LIVE: President Biden Speaks at the White House After the Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump

President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak at the White House following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

The president spoke briefly on Saturday night in Delaware — condemning the attack on his predecessor.

“There’s no place in America for this kind of violence,” Biden said. “It’s sick. It’s sick. It’s one of the reasons why we have to unite this country. We cannot allow for this to be happening. We cannot be like this. We cannot condone this.”

The 45th and 46th presidents spoke briefly by phone on Saturday night. The White House described the conversation as “good, short and respectful.”

The Biden campaign has pulled its campaign ads and has canceled a campaign stop scheduled for Tuesday in Florida. Biden is also scheduled to sit down with NBC’s Lester Holt for an interview Monday night — an interview which was scheduled before the assassination attempt on former President Trump.

The president’s address is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET. Watch above, via the White House.
