ABC Confirms Kelly Ripa Won’t Return to Live! This Week

ABC has issued comment on the ongoing drama over Live! with Kelly and Michael, and according to several media reporters, she’s not gonna be on for the next few days (at the least):

ABC confirms that Kelly Ripa won’t be back on #LiveWithKellyandMichael until next Tuesday at the earliest.

ABC announced yesterday that Michael Strahan would be leaving the morning show for GMA, and Ripa has reportedly been a little frustrated by getting blindsided.

She skipped the show today when Strahan made the on-air announcement.

CNN’s Brian Stelter provides some details about the nature of Ripa’s absence:

ABC said in a statement that substitutes will continue to co-host with Michael Strahan on Thursday, Friday and next Monday.

The network said Ripa had a “previously-scheduled vacation” set for Friday and Monday. But it said nothing about why she will be absent on Thursday, fueling behind the scenes claims that she is furious with ABC management.
